The Ulumbarra Foundation hosted a special pre-show event for its wonderful supporters before Bendigo Symphony Orchestra’s Mahler concert  on 24th November, 2024. We were honoured to have Dr. Megan Burslem as our special guest speaker. As a young musician, researcher, educator and ABC Classic presenter, Megan is at the forefront of the national conversation about music.

Megan’s own musical journey, starting as a “country kid” from Lakes Entrance, was incredibly inspiring. Learning the viola, and feeling like she didn’t belong, her success is the result of talent, hard work and opportunities.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Ulumbarra Foundation supports Bendigo’s aspiring young performing artists to follow in Megan’s footsteps.
