05 Feb An exciting opportunity for young musicians!
Thanks to your support for the performing arts, the Ulumbarra Foundation is thrilled to sponsor a brand-new initiative for young brass and percussion musicians in our region! The Goldfields Youth Brass Band Workshop is a unique opportunity for students to come together, learn from leading musicians, and experience the joy of playing in a large ensemble—all at no cost to participants.
Please help us spread the word among students, band members, and families who may be interested. Download this Goldfields Workshop Poster and share with your friends.
Why this workshop matters
Many students in the region receive limited exposure to brass and percussion music training outside their school environment. The workshop will bring together school and community band students, giving them an opportunity to collaborate and grow as musicians and performers.
Expert guest facilitators
Students will be grouped by experience level and led by an exceptional lineup of guest conductors, including Louisa Trewartha – Yamaha Artist, Footscray-Yarraville Brass, Nick Beale – Victorian State Youth Brass Band Tutor, Wonthaggi Brass, and Brandon Waterworth – Percussionist, Royal Australian Navy Band.
Students will have the chance to ask professional musicians their burning questions—whether it’s about technique, performance tips, or musical careers. No question is too big or small!
