Bringing laughter to the Bendigo Community

Thanks to the generous support of donors like you, the Ulumbarra Foundation helped to bring laughter and joy to the community through the Bendigo Comedy Festival and RAW Comedy Heat. Our support helped to ensure that comedy is accessible to everyone in Bendigo, transcending the traditional venues of pubs and bars.

Bendigo Comedy Festival and Comedy Victoria hosted the festival with a focus on local comedy community and new talent. It helps many emerging writers and performers experience a professional event and encourages them to work on their art; bringing joy to the community.

RAW Comedy participant Caitlin Williams captured the essence of the festival, particularly after challenging times for the community.

“(It has) been such a great departure into exploring something new… Such a valuable thing that gives comedy newbies a chance to meet each other and take a plunge into the unknown,” Caitlin said.

Festival founder Luke Morris thanked the Foundation’s supporters for helping to give local artists a chance to experience a professional setting, and to spread joy in the community.

“For the people of Bendigo to know their city has high quality fun and laughter produced by people living in their community we hope that gives everyone pride, and we know the acts and audience involved would like to continue this happy feeling.”
